Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what information Quad collects, how we use it, when we may share it, and the choices you have.
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Quad app, our websites, and related services that link to this Policy (together, the “Service”). Quad is a campus community for college students 18 and over in the United States. In this Policy, “Quad”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
This Policy does not apply to information that other people share about you, or to services operated by others. If you access a third-party service through Quad, that service’s privacy policy applies to its own practices.
2. Information we collect
We may collect information in the categories below, depending on how you use the Service and the choices you make.
Account and sign-in information
- Identifiers and credentials used to create or access your account, such as a device-based account identifier, an Apple sign-in identifier, an email address, a password or other authentication credential handled by our authentication service, and session tokens.
- If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and provides an account identifier; we use it to create and secure your account.
- Your date of birth, which we use to confirm that you are 18 or older.
- Your campus and school email address, which we use for campus access and verification. Your school email is not shown on your public profile.
Profile information
- Your display name, avatar selection, campus, and any optional details you add, such as a bio, major, year, and interests.
- Your public posts and replies, which are visible to eligible members of your campus.
Content and interactions
- Posts, replies, message requests, chat messages, reports, blocks, and related activity records.
- Information about how you interact with content, such as which request you accept or decline, and the source thread attached to a request.
Device, network, and technical information
- Device and app information such as device model, operating system and version, app version, language, and general settings.
- IP address, network status, and technical logs generated when the app communicates with our systems.
- A device-based identifier used to sign in and to keep your session working.
- Local storage on your device, which may hold your campus setup, content, preferences, and session state.
Support and communications
- Information you provide when you contact us, including your email address, display name, campus, app version, device details you choose to include, and the content of your message.
- Information other people provide about you, such as when someone reports your content or blocks your account.
The categories above describe the current version of the Service. If we add a feature that uses a new category of information, we will update this Policy and, where required, ask for your permission.
3. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Provide the Service, including creating your account, confirming your campus access, showing your campus feed, delivering requests and chats, and maintaining your session.
- Personalize what you see within your campus, such as topic filters and the order of posts.
- Operate safety features, including reports, blocks, content removal, and restrictions on who can contact whom.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, debug problems, and protect the rights of users and others.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve and develop it.
- Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We may combine information from different parts of the Service for these purposes. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent where requested, and legal obligations.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our agreements, and protect the Service. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it is kept.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify information associated with it, subject to the retention needs described in this Policy and on our account deletion page. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before they are overwritten or deleted through normal processes. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
7. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile in the app, delete your own posts and replies, block accounts, and delete your account. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, and to ask questions about how it is handled.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what information we collect, the right to request a copy, the right to correct or delete information, the right to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To make a request, email us at feedback@quadness.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Subject to applicable exceptions, California law may provide the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. You or an authorized agent may contact us using the email above. We will respond as required by law.
You can also control permissions and identifiers through your device settings. If you withdraw a permission, some features may no longer work.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to Quad, contact us at the email below so we can review and delete it. We may close an account if we learn that the user does not meet the age requirement.
9. International transfers
Quad is intended for users in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other jurisdictions, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help protect your account by keeping your sign-in information private and using a trusted device.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or on this page before the changes take effect, where required. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when this Policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means the updated Policy applies.
